As a national leader in efforts to end the suffering and unnecessary deaths of animals in cosmetics and product testing, NEAVS has been invited to present at next week’s Cosmetic Compliance Summit in New Jersey. We are proud to announce our focus is our innovative, first-of-its kind initiative: Animal Research is Hazardous Waste.
Animal Research is Hazardous Waste is part of our Common Ground campaign linking advocacy for animals, women, and the environment. Millions of animals are used and disposed in science, creating millions of pounds of hazardous waste. This includes infectious pathogens and air pollution from incineration.
However, the use of more predictive non-animal research and testing methods helps reduce or completely eliminates much of this environmental harm.
How You Can Help
Take Action: Help eliminate this unnecessary burden on our already overburdened Earth.
Ask your rep to co-sponsor the Humane Cosmetics Act (H.R. 4148), which will end animal testing of cosmetics in the U.S.! Click here for a simple form.

More info on the conference: The new European Union Regulation 1223/2009 – which bans animal testing of cosmetics – has left many cosmetics manufacturers fearfully at risk for non-compliance, and unsure of direct impact on costs, internal processes, and training. Register now for a hands-on approach to exploring new strategies that will safeguard against market volatility and risk! The carefully selected speaking faculty of the Cosmetic Compliance Summit is eager to share their organizations' best practices and first-hand knowledge of the steps they took to achieve compliance in the European Union, United States, and Latin America.
